Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday inaugurated four laning of the Kamakhyanagar-Duburi section of NH-53 here in the presence of Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
In his address, Amit Shah said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government was committed to protecting the rights of every poor and middle class person of the country.
"They are making commendable efforts to assist people in the most challenging circumstances," Modi tweeted.
The meeting was attended by Road and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari, Power Minister R K Singh, Environment, and Forest and Climate Change Minister Bhupender Yadav and Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat.
Shah said: "No one can occupy even an inch of India's land as he knows that the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) personnel are guarding the frontiers."
The recent language row is symptomatic of the fault lines in Centre-State relations as also over-politicisation of sensitive issues. Propelled by the popularity of Hindi films and TV serials, use of Hindi in the armed forces and in the Central Government, Hindi has become the de facto lingua franca for non-English speaking people of all States. On the other hand, Hindi propagandists often damage their own case by insensitive over-promotion of Hindi.
In eight years, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has ensured the holistic development of the state. He has done a commendable work of transforming Haryana, said Home Minister Amit Shah.
