Ordering the removal of the hoardings, the court observed that the action by the UP government was an 'unwarranted interference into the privacy of the people'.
The incident comes barely 2 months after a woman techie died after she was run over by a water tanker as she fell down on the road when an illegal hoarding put up by a ruling AIADMK functionary fell on her.
Even though the Madras High Court had banned hoardings in public places, an AIADMK party official C Jayagopal had put up the banner at the centre of the busy Pallavaram-Thoraipakkam Radial Road.
The hoardings with Yogi Lao Desh Bachao written on it read 'Jumlebaazi ka naam Modi' on one side and 'Hindutva Ka Brand Yogi' on the other with #Yogi4PM on the top.
