Mattoo, a resident of Jammu and Kashmir's Sopore district had a bounty of Rs 10 lakh on his head.

ADGP (Kashmir) Vijay Kumar informed that the deceased terrorists have been identified as Danish Bhat alias Kokab Duree and Basharat Nabi, both are said to be involved in the killing of one Territorial Army (TA) personnel Saleem on 9 April 2021 and two civilians on 29 May 2021 in Jablipora.
The majority of the actions were carried out jointly by the police and the army based on specific intelligence inputs.
Initial investigation into the matter revealed that these individuals were involved in publishing and circulation of threat posters issued by proscribed terror outfits Hizbul Mujahideen and LeT in Ladhoo area of Khrew Awantipora.
On specific inputs provided by the Jammu and Kashmir Police, an operation was launched which led to an encounter in Pazalpora area of Anantnag.
The police and NIA have picked up 45 people and questioned them in connection with the terror network in Kishtwar and arrested 16 till now.
The police also recovered a sophisticated improvised explosive device (IED) during the search.
However, on Sunday, the separatists appealed to people to return to their normal daily routine and also confirmed that there would be no shutdown.
