In the year 2004, he contested for the 14th Lok Sabha from Kangra constituency on a Congress ticket and defeated the then Union Minister and former Chief Minister Shanta Kumar.
The programme was organised under the joint aegis of Nauni University, Sewa International, Prakritik Kheti Khushal Kisan Yojana and Indian Ecological Society.
The cabinet expansion of the newly elected government will be done in consultation with the Congress high command.
He said that it would be his endeavor to make Himachal an ideal State of the country in terms of development.
Attributing lack of harmony to foreign invaders, he said, “If there was harmony in the country, they would not have been able to harm our social system.”
Addressing a two-day workshop organised at the State Health Training Center, Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar said by achieving this goal, Himachal could emerge the first 'Model State' of the country, which would be a great achievement for all of us.
“In today's era, apart from allopathy, the importance of other traditional medical methods cannot be ruled out,” Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar said at a conference of Fellowship of Indian Association of Gastrointestinal Endosurgeons (FIAGES) in the Indira Gandhi Medical College, Shimla.
