With the bypolls scheduled for next month, the BJP has announced its candidates for the three Assembly constituencies (ACs) -- Nalagarh, Hamirpur and Dehra.
The main contest in Mandi is between the BJP and the Congress. The Mandi constituency, which includes Kullu, Mandi and some areas of Chamba and Shimla districts, besides the tribal-dominated Kinnaur and Lahaul and Spiti, is one of the biggest in the country.
However, the bypoll proved tough battle for BJP as both party rebels, Dyal Pyari and Rakesh Kumar Chaudhary gave a tough fight and managed to secure 11,698 and 16,740 votes respectively.
The high voltage campaigning for bypolls witnessed door-to-door campaigning along with rallies by big leaders of both the party in the two assembly constituencies.
