Airlines cancelled just over 2,270 US flights by 6 ET pm Thursday and proactively cancelled almost 1,000 flights for Friday.
Meanwhile, the upper reaches in Rajouri, Poonch, Udhampur, Doda and Kishtwar districts of Jammu also recorded snow.
More than 125 civilians and truck drivers stranded in heavy snow on the Moughal Road in the Rajouri district of Jammu were on Saturday rescued by men of Indian Army’s 16 battalion of the Rashtriya Rifles.
An official release said as many as 200 people were stranded at Koksar in Lahaul Spiti while around 300 were stuck up in Baralacha due to snow, who were provided with food and medicines by state government.
