During their meeting, the Associations have put forth their demands regarding their concern over the safety and security of healthcare workers at the workplace, it said.
Few days ago Miss Banerjee had proposed a threeyear diploma medical course for young boys and girls to meet up the shortfall of registered MBBS doctors in government healthcare facilities like medical colleges,
“The paramedics and allied healthcare workers are critical part of the medical profession and their contribution is similar to doctors, if not more. The group of allied professionals is large and the bill is trying to regulate this field by providing dignity to their roles,” said Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan, while replying the debate.
