This year, over 6,500 women-led SHGs in UP are working in mission mode to produce 2 crore tricolors. Notably, the Yogi government has set an ambitious target of 4.50 crore national flags under the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign for 2024, officials here on Tuesday said.
The PM changed his profile picture to tricolour to celebrate Independence Day. He called on everyone to do the same to make the Har Ghar Tiranga Movement a memorable mass movement.
Union Minister of Culture and Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat announced on Thursday that the third edition of the "Har Ghar Tiranga" (HGT) campaign would be celebrated from 9 to 15 August as part of the Independence Day celebrations.
The figure represents a 5 to 10 per cent increase compared to last year when 4.5 crore tricolours were hoisted.
He also informed that a statewide 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign will be organized from August 9 to 15, 2024.
In a post on X, Shah said, "PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji's #HarGharTiranga campaign has evolved into a national movement over the last two years, awakening the basic unity in every Indian across the length and breadth of the nation."
The Postal Department has placed requisition for 2.5 crore flags this year and 55 lakh flags have already been sent out through post offices.
The idea behind the initiative was to strengthen the feeling of patriotism in the hearts of the people and to celebrate 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' in the spirit of Jan Bhagidari.
They saluted the Tricolor at a ceremony organised by Amor Hospitals, a prominent multi-specialty healthcare provider in the city.
