The main accused in Haldwani mob unrest on February 8 is eluding Uttarakhand Police even as the latter is patting its back with the arrest of 42 persons allegedly involved in the violence leading to four deaths.
It's significant that Uttarakhand police on Sunday arrested 25 men allegedly for attacking police during mob unrest on February 8 at Malik ka Bagicha area Haldwani.
"A criminal is a criminal and has no religion. What happened was wrong. The guilty will not be spared and will receive exemplary punishment. We must ensure that such incidents don't happen again," he said.
According to the Nainital district administration, rioters used a five-day notification period to plan violence and terrorise people.
