Gurmeet Ram Rahim walked out of the Sunaria Jail in Rohtak (Haryana) on Saturday after he was granted 40 days parole on Friday.
He is currently serving a life term for the murder of his manager in 2002 and was also convicted for the rape of two women in 2017.
A special CBI court in Haryana's Panchkula held Singh guilty of murdering the Sirsa-based journalist in 2002.
