Notably, the Dera chief was also granted parole ahead of the Haryana panchayat election and Adampur Assembly bypoll. Rahim was granted parole for a month on June 17.
Gurmeet Ram Rahim is currently out of Jail on 40-day parole, during which he hosted a virtual Satsang last week.
The quantum of sentence in the matter will be pronounced on 12 October. Ranjit Singh was murdered in 2002 in the premises of Dera Sacha Sauda.
“Entire investigation was conducted by the CBI, not the SIT headed by Iqbal Preet Singh Sahota,” said the spokesperson, while adding no clean chit has been given to Gurmeet Ram Rahim or any other person.
Kumar has denied that he arranged any such meeting or had any role in brokering the deal.
While Parkash Singh Badal has been asked to appear before the SIT on November 16, Sukhbir has been summoned on November 19 and Akshay Kumar has been asked to come on November 21 to the Circuit House in Amritsar.
