In a solemn wreath-laying ceremony, GOC of the White Knight Corps Lt General Navin Sachdeva laid a wreath to pay homage to the Bravehearts Naib Subedar Vipan Kumar and Rifleman Arvind Singh who made the supreme sacrifice in the highest traditions of the Indian Army.
Four Army soldiers were injured on Friday evening in a gunfight with terrorists in the forest area in Kishtwar district of Jammu. Two to three terrorists are believed trapped in the cordon by security forces.
The injured soldiers were evacuated to the military hospital but two of the critically injured succumbed to their wounds, reports said.
Security forces are said to have established contact with the hiding terrorists in the upper reaches and trapped them in the forested area.
According to reports, two Special Police Officers who had decamped with weapons on Thursday are among the four killed.
The hiding militants were challenged after which they opened fire at the security forces, triggering an encounter.
The central forces had assembled at one of the camps in Howrah ahead of polling in the Lok Sabha elections which will take place on 6 May.

Security forces received information of the presence of terrorists in the forest in Branpathry Kahlil of Tral following which they launched a search operation.
