A brief snapshot was presented to the GOM highlighting the comparative position of India vis-a-vis other countries in similar stage of easing lockdown.
States have been asked to follow and further strengthen their contingency plans to combat COVID-19 on the basis of classification of the districts.
However, a GOM meeting was hosted by the Union Minister Rajnath Singh during which there was no decision taken on whether to end the lockdown on April 14 or to extend it.
The committee headed by Home Secretary RK Gauba to deliberate and make recommendations within four weeks. The Group of Ministers (GoM) headed by Rajnath Singh will consider the committee's recommendations before submitting them to the Prime Minister.
