Tension erupted in the Sekendra Gram Panchayat area under Raghunathganj police station in Murshidabad due to a factional feud between two groups within the Trinamul Congress (TMC).
A delegation from the central government visited the Bid Bihar Gram panchayat under Kanksha Block of West Burdwan district today to assess the work of the area.
Till date 190 cases of dengue have been detected in the Hooghly district, of which 32 cases were earlier detected in Balagarh block. Last Saturday 24 dengue cases were detected in Guptipara - 1 gram panchayat and 21 dengue cases were detected in Saradha Nagar.
