Interacting on the occasion of the 27th edition of the Wharton India Economic Forum via VC, the Union Minister for Commerce and Industry said a lot of structural changes that have taken place in the last eight years have had a significant impact on the way the Indian economy is poised to take off.
The initiative would connect start-ups in India to US-based investors and start-up ecosystem leaders with mentorship and assistance in various areas including funding, market access and commercialization.
During the review, it was noted that more than 95% of all the physical order deliveries since Apr’22 happened on time, in cases where online fulfillment and payment were done via GeM.
These 27 members from ten states did so in 10 languages: Hindi (12 Members), English (4), two each in Sanskrit, Kannada, Marathi, and Oriya, and one each in Punjabi, Tamil, and Telugu. Four others of the 57 newly-elected members had taken oath recently.
Quoting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Goyal said that India amongst all these problems is an oasis which reflects transparency, offers trust and timeliness and added that the nation had responded to every crisis in a timely manner. This responsiveness, he said, is a manifestation of the resilience that Indian businesses have to offer and the resilience and confidence of political leadership.
He noted that 'One Nation - One Ration Card' was a vision of the Prime Minister and the government started it to provide ration to 80 crore beneficiaries anywhere in the country with the use of technology.
The excitement generated by the agreement has increased business optimism on both sides, he said while addressing the University of Melbourne along with his Australian counterpart Dan Tehan in Melbourne. The Indian minister is currently on a visit to Australia.
"We should keep a target of USD 100 billion exports in the jewellery industry worldwide. We should work to see how it can be achieved regarding policies by the government and global players to persuade the market," he said in his speech.
