Buoyed by the success of the recently concluded global investors meet, Karnataka is expecting investments of around Rs 2 lakh crore to make their way to coastal regions of the state.
A state delegation led by Karnataka Minister Murugesh R. Nirani is in Tokyo to invite Japanese investors to participate in the upcoming GIM.
The opposition MLAs were demanding a discussion on investors meet under rule 67 (adjournment motion), for which few of them had submitted a notice to the Speaker earlier.
‘Him Pragati’, an online monitoring system was launched by the State Government to ensure that investment projects get necessary approvals and clearances at the earliest.
The Netherlands had the largest overseas delegation participation in the event led by Vikas Chaturvedi, CEO of Valucent Group and Founder Chairman of ASSOCHAM Europe.
Addressing the investors, Thakur said the people of the state were fortunate that Himachal was always close to the heart of Prime Minister Narendra Modi as it was the second visit to the state within a period of one year which shows the love and affection.
He said that the Union Government has provided Rs 12 crore as assistance for organising this Meet.
Reviewing preparations for Global Investors Meet, Thakur said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would preside over the inaugural function on 7 November and Home Minister Amit Shah would be presiding over the valedictory function to be held on 8 November.
He said that the state government has succeeded in signing Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) Rs 85 thousand crore so far.
