The police have strengthened security at the Ghazipur border protest site by setting up barbed wire fences, barricades and spikes on the road and have dug up trenches to stop the farmers from entering the national capital. The measures have been put in place after the tractor rally violence that took place on the Republic Day.
Speaking at the Maha Panchayat here on Friday, farmer leaders were unanimous in their opinion that they would take the ongoing agitation to its logical conclusion.
The government had assured that the minimum support price (MSP) for their agricultural produce will not be scrapped, a major concern for the farmers. However, the protesters are rigid on the demand of scrapping of the three laws.
