The Uttar Pradesh government on Wednesday transferred 11 senior IPS officers in the state, including Police Commissioners of Ghaziabad and Agra.
Uttar Pradesh BJP President Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary has issued a show cause notice to BJP MLA Nandkishore Gurjar from Loni Assembly segment in Ghaziabad district over alleged anti-party activities.
The police have apprehended a youth for the murder of his brother in Matiala village of South West Delhi over alleged a monetary dispute, the police said on Friday.
An estimated 49.3% of the 34.35 lakh voters exercised their franchise in the by-elections for the nine assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday.
Among the nine assembly constituencies that went for by poll on Wednesday, Ghaziabad recorded the lowest voter turnout at 33.30 percent, as per the data issued by the Election Commission.
According to sources, tablets were being distributed on the college premises. The students have alleged that they were not allowed to take the tablet in hijab.
Speaking to reporters at the site of the incident, Ghaziabad District Magistrate Rakesh Kumar Singh said that prima facie it looks like around 15-20 cows have been charred to death.
The official said that the night curfew, which begins at 11 pm and ends at 5 am, will be strictly implemented in the city.
Ajay Kumar Sharma, member secretary of the UP Pollution Control Board, said, "We are closely monitoring the AQI numbers of Uttar Pradesh cities. Several measures, including fines on polluting industries have been taken to reduce pollution. We have also set in place several strict measures to curb air pollution in the coming days."
He had severe symptoms of the coronavirus and was in a critical condition. A plasma donor was also arranged but his lung was severely affected, the police official said.
