German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has spoken in favour of Russia's participation in a new summit to resolve the crisis with Ukraine, the Russian media reported on Sunday.
Schloz was received by Union Minister of State for MSME, Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma at the airport.

Scholz will be accorded a ceremonial welcome at the forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhawan at 10 am. He will also hold a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the two leaders will discuss bilateral, regional and global issues.

Germany is among the countries worst hit by the coronavirus pandemic, with latest figures showing 12 deaths and 8,198 confirmed cases on Wednesday, a jump of 1,042 from the previous day.
The conference in Berlin of 11 countries was aimed at bringing an end to the fighting between the UN-recognised government in Tripoli led by the Prime Minister, Fayez al-Sarraj, and the Libyan National Army.
"We certainly could not ignore the issue of preserving the JCPOA on Iran's nuclear programme, which is vitally important not only for the region but also for the whole world," he said.
Merkel further said, "To be aware of this responsibility is part of our national identity, our self-understanding as an enlightened and free society".
