The 14 SMC wards, four gram panchayats (DabgramI & II and Fulbari-I& II) come under the jurisdiction of the Assembly segment in Jalpaiguri district.
Deb was trying to encourage the teachers at a time when a section of senior party leaders expressed their grievances over the selection of the party candidate Prof Om Prakash Mishra, for the Siliguri Assembly constituency.
In a letter to Mr Bhattacharya, Mr Supriyo has said that Rs 419 crore was sanctioned by the Centre for West Bengal, as per recommendations of the 15th Finance Commission.
"We have already addressed many complaints people filed through the Didi Ke Bolo programme. We held a meeting today in a bid to resolve some more issues. We discussed 16 such applications and will try to address them before Kali Puja," he said.
SJDA officials said nine such constructions had come up in the market.
He also claimed that Miss Banerjee had "pushed" the state under massive debt to the tune of over Rs 4.75 Lakh crore in the past nine years and that she had failed to attract business and investment.
There are around 154 notified slums under the SMC and more than 20 non-notified slums. Mr Deb said special focus had been laid on Wards 18, 28, and 46, that has seen a jump in Covid cases.
Though the health department had advised him to remain in 14 days' home quarantine, local people had objected to the same, sources said.
It is alleged that several private schools and colleges have increased their fee-structure, even amid the COVID- 19 crisis, following which both state education minister Partha Chatterjee and state principal secretary of school education, Manish Jain, had taken up the matter.
