Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi on Wednesday campaigned in the Samaguri Legislative Assembly constituency alongside Tanzil Hussain, son of MP Rakibul Hussain, for the upcoming by-election.
The deputy leader of Congress in Parliament said the BJP has again returned to communal politics not able to digest the moral defeat.
The party has named Manickam Tagore and Md Jawaid its whips in the lower house of Parliament.
Gogoi highlighted the insufficient actions taken over the past eight years by the BJP government at both state and central levels, referring to them as the “double-engine” government.
Gogoi took to X and wrote, “Air connectivity is a challenge for Jorhat. The absence of direct flights to Delhi results in a lot of inconvenience to people. Moreover, the cost of air travel has shot up due to the limited availability of flights.”
The Congress MP from Assam warned that Rahul Gandhi and the party won’t let this issue go unchallenged.
Bhagwat emphasized the urgency of addressing the ongoing ethnic violence in Manipur during his address on Monday.
Gogoi highlighted that running a coalition government requires a leader with a large heart, an open mind, and an inclusive approach -- qualities he believes are lacking in Modi.
Saikia’s message has not only emphasised Gaurav Gogoi’s significant achievement but also criticised traditional election tactics.
Gaurav Gogoi, who is contesting from Jorhat constituency, praised his father's principled governance approach which prioritized public service over personal gain.
