The growth was driven by an increase in shipments of passenger vehicles and two-wheelers.
Speaking at the 64th annual Automotive Component Manufacturers Association (ACMA) session, the President said the auto sector also contributes significantly to the direct and indirect employment generation in the country.
This significant jump in capex came after the miner carried out a comprehensive review of its decision-making process and brought about key changes to make the organisation more agile and decentralised.
In 2022-23, the coal production was 893.191 MT while the import was 237.668 MT.

For FY24, the government received Rs 27,88,872 crore comprising Rs 23,26,524 crore Tax Revenue (Net to Centre), Rs 4,01,888 crore of Non-Tax Revenue and Rs 60,460 crore of Non-Debt Capital Receipts.
Further, for the entire Financial Year 2023-24 (FY24), Petronet reported highest-ever net profit of Rs 3,536 crore on the back of a 22% growth in volume throughput.
PCL’s profit after tax for FY 2023-24 came in at Rs 26,673 crore, nearly 13-times higher than the previous fiscal year.
