The Fit India Movement envisioned by the prime minister and launched by him on August 29, 2019, has seen a collective participation of more than 3.5 crore Indians.
The influencers who will share their thoughts on fitness and health include Kohli, Milind Soman, Paralympian gold medalist Devendra Jhajharia, nutrition expert Rujuta Diwekar.
The Fit India Youth Clubs bring together fitness and voluntarism in a unique way in which 75 lakh volunteers of Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan and National Service Scheme, along with Scouts and Guides, NCC and other youth organisations will come together to register as Fit India Youth Clubs in every block in the country.
During the conference, Rijiju also spoke of the relevance of the Fit India Movement during the coronavirus pandemic since staying Fit and building immunity are two key factors in defeating the virus.
Rijiju further stated that the participation of states in various activities being held as part of the 'Fit India Movement' have been encouraging with more than 2.5 lakh schools across India are enrolling to become Fit India Schools.
The Fit India School ranking system has been drawn up by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports in consultation with the Ministry of Human Resource Development.
There are different categories of sports activities organized for members at the carnival: tennis, badminton, basketball, soccer, cricket, golf, marathon/walkathon, super senior walkathon, and cyclothon.
Yet others, visiting clinics for suspected cardiac ailments have found that inadequate sleep has been causing health-related nightmares.
Meanwhile, all the states have been requested to make necessary arrangements for the live telecast of the event in all schools and encourage maximum participation of students and teachers in taking the ‘fitness pledge’.
