Global narratives on the Indian stage

The 55th International Film Festival of India, popularly known as IFFI, ended on 28 November. India’s own film festival had been exhaustive and exploratory this year, with many new, innovative things for cine goers from across the world.

The IFFI ‘tamasha’ that shows no sign of turning over a new leaf

The International Film Festival of India (IFFI), which began its run in the Nehruvian era over five decades ago – and which is now on in Goa's Panaji – was first mooted as a venue for showcasing the mind-boggling diversity of our country through cinema that celebrities like Satyajit Ray, Mrinal Sen, Shyam Benegal, Adoor Gopalakrishnan, Aravindan, Smita Patil, Shabana Azmi, Raj Kapoor, Kamal Hassan, Mani Ratnam and so many more helped create.

3-day Indo-Bangladesh film festival concludes

The Chitranjali Campus Film Society, Raja Narendralal Khan Women’s College , in association with the Federation of Film Societies of India and Midnapore Film Society, successfully organized a three-day “Indo-Bangladesh Bangla Film Festival” from 29 July to 31 July.
