Though the U-17 Women’s World Cup was eight months away, most of the qualifying competitions leading up to the tournament were yet to take place.
The LOC on Tuesday revealed the new dates of the FIFA U-17 Women's WorldCup after it was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic in early April.
FIFA-Confederations working group took the decision on Saturday to postpone the Under-17 Women's World Cup in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Though the U-17 Women's World Cup is still seven months away, the ongoing COVID-19 crisis has forced FIFA to inspect the situation in India.
The India team is currently in Mumbai, along with Sweden and Thailand competing in an U-17 tournament, which is also Dennerby's first assignment
Navi Mumbai was the final venue to be inspected by the FIFA-LOC delegation. The next official FIFA inspection is scheduled next year.
The FIFA delegation was accompanied by members of the Local Organising Committee (LOC) of the 2020 U-17 Women's World Cup.
The FIFA and LOC delegation will inspect the stadium and training sites in Kolkata on Wednesday, and follow it up with an inspection in Guwahati on Thursday.
In their preparation for the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup, the AIFF conducted the U-17 Women's Championship 2019 in Kalyani featuring 73 players.
