Online e-commerce platforms in the country saw sales worth over Rs 54,500 crore in the first week of the festive season, about 55 per cent of total sales projected during the next month.
The online retail platforms in India clocked $5.7 billion (about Rs 40,000 crore) worth festive sales between September 22 to 30, a robust 27 per cent (year-on-year) growth, a report showed on Thursday.
E-commerce platforms are on track to achieve $4.8 billion (over Rs 36,000 crore) gross merchandise value (GMV), predicted by a Bengaluru-based market research firm.
The installed base of 4G smartphone handsets to go up by 1.3 per cent to 72.9 per cent. Non-4G Smartphone installed base is still above 30 per cent of total smartphones in use.
