Spain were tipped among the favourites until Lopetegui caused chaos by announcing he would become Real Madrid's new coach after the World Cup.
Spain coach Fernando Hierro said it was not the right time to contemplate his future after his team crashed out to World Cup hosts Russia on penalties in the last 16.
"We see he (De Gea) is calm, training as usual," Hierro said at a press conference ahead Wednesday's clash with Iran.
De Gea was philosophical about his mistake after the game, telling the press there was nothing that could be done to change the past and that now he has to prepare to face Iran.
Fernando Hierro will take charge of the European giants for the upcoming World Cup in Russia.
