Omar Abdullah and Farooq Abdullah were speaking to reporters on the sidelines of different functions in the Jammu region.
Hitting out at the BJP, the National Conference (NC) President, Dr. Farooq Abdullah said that the saffron party excels in rhetoric, but when it comes to action, they fall short.
Ruling National Conference president Dr Farooq Abdullah has asked people of Kashmir to come together in prayers to bring an end to the ongoing dry spell that has been plaguing the region.
He stressed that for India to progress, every citizen must have access to development and prosperity.
The clarification comes ahead of an all-party meeting that has been convened by Dr. Farooq Abdullah, MP and the chief of National Conference chief, in Srinagar on Monday to formulate a joint strategy against the move to include ‘non-locals’ in the electoral rolls.
Srinagar Police tweeted: “There are additional police personnel deployed on certain places along the Gupkar Road in view of certain security related inputs.”
The ED tweeted, “ED has filed a Supplementary PC under PMLA, 2002 before the Spl. PMLA Court, Srinagar against Dr. Farooq Abdullah & others on 4/6/2022. The court has taken cognizance of the complaint and issued notices to the accused persons for appearance before the court on 27 August.
This, the ED alleged, had been done under direction of Abdullah, who was then the President of the JKCA and also the beneficiary of the siphoned-off funds.
The votaries of muscular policy in Kashmir, Dr Farooq observed, need to take a step back and ask themselves if such a policy has succeeded elsewhere in the world.
