The bench asked the Punjab and Haryana governments to suggest some names to be included in the proposed expert committee or else it can find out some suitable persons for the committee.
Channi reiterated instead of sitting idle all the Punjabis and especially the farmers have to remain vigilant until the draconian farm laws are not repealed.
While the agitating farmers are calling for revocation of the recently enacted farm laws, the spotlight has been turned on the farm practices and the problems facing the farmers, particularly subsistence farmers.

Amarinder said his government had decided to waive off loans amounting to Rs 520 Crore of farm labour and landless farmers with respect to the principal amount against their cooperative loans as of 31 July 2017, and simple interest on the above amount till 6 March 2019.

On each agitation site, meals are being cooked for hundreds of farmers. Thousands of people are cooking food, but the help of the workers and labourers is also being taken on a payment basis.
The meeting, scheduled to be held at 11 a.m. in Punjab Bhawan, will discuss the situation arising out of the recent developments in the ongoing farmers' agitation in Delhi, especially in view of the Republic Day violence, the Singhu border attack on farmers, and the massive vilification campaign against them.
