The Rouse Avenue Court is scheduled to pass an order on the bail plea of Delhi's former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia in CBI's case on Friday, over alleged irregularities in the now-scrapped excise policy.
Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, who was summoned by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Sunday for questioning in regard to irregularities in the excise policy case, requested the central agency to defer questioning saying that he is "preparing the budget" at present and can only appear before it towards February-end.
The ED has also alleged that it was created to receive around 6 per cent as a kickback to the AAP leaders from profit margin.
Earlier, the two were arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and remanded into judicial custody after questioning.
The allegations have sparked a fresh controversy as it indicates that the accused knew how to fool prosecution agencies.
Poonawalla alleged that the 'New Liquor Policy of AAP' caused a huge loss with a loss of Rs 2,000-2,300 crore in 288 days.
Before heading for the CBI office, Sisodia went to his party's headquarters from where he stopped at Rajghat (Mahatma Gandhi's Samadhi).
In August, the CBI registered a case to probe an alleged scam in the framing and implementation of the excise policy and issued a Look-Out Circular (LOC) against eight people.
More teams in Hyderabad are carrying out raids on locations of few manufacturers and businessmen directly or indirectly involved in the scam.
