“A short loop is to be constructed from Esplanade to Maidan,” informed an official of the state transport department.

According to sources in Kolkata Metro, the new design includes the elevated tracks running till Mominpore and going underground thereafter, passing through Kidderpore, Victoria Memorial Hall and Park Street areas, before finally reaching Esplanade.
As part of the first stage, the stretch from 9 SN Banerjee to 1 SN Banerjee Road is to remain vacant from 28 March to 31 March
