Senior CPM leader EP Jayarajan has been removed by the party as the convener of the ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) in Kerala, following the row over his public statement on the morning of Lok Sabha polls in Kerala about his meeting with BJP leader Prakash Javadekar.
In a big relief to Congress Kerala chief K Sudhakaran, the Kerala High Court on Tuesday acquitted him of conspiracy charges in the 1995 EP Jayarajan murder attempt case.
Jayarajan said the accusations against him were part of a calculated conspiracy hatched by the Congress and the BJP.
The party secretariat has taken the stance that since the allegations were raised at the state committee, Jayarajan will give his reply at the state committee meeting later.
According to allegations, the Vaidekam Resort in the Anthoor Municipality area of Kannur, is operating without obtaining necessary permissions and the resort has not received environmental clearance for its construction and operation.
KPCC president K Sudhakaran said that the charges levelled against LDF convener EP Jayarajan could not be considered as an internal matter of the CPI-M.
The allegations levelled against senior party leader EP Jayarajan may come up for discussion in the Polit Bureau (PB) meeting to be held on Monday and Tuesday.
