On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted engineers on Engineers Day. Prime Minister has also remembered the pathbreaking contribution of Sir M. Visvesvaraya on Engineers Day.
In a tweet, the Prime Minister said, "Greetings on #EngineersDay to all hardworking engineers. No words are enough to thank them for their pivotal role in making our planet better and technologically advanced. I pay homage to the remarkable Shri M. Visvesvaraya on his birth anniversary and recall his accomplishments."
The Prime Minister said that even during the times of Corona, the work on various development projects progressed uninterrupted in Bihar and lauded the contribution of the engineers to the development of the country on the occasion of Engineer’s Day, which is celebrated in the memory of India’s pioneering modern civil engineer, Sir M Visvesvaraya.
In 1915, while he was serving as the Diwan of Mysore, he was knighted by the British for his services to the public. When India became independent, he was awarded Bharat Ratna- nation’s highest honour in 1955.
