In a post on X, Kashmir Zone Police said, "Two terrorists have been neutralised in the Sopore encounter. Identification and affiliation is being ascertained. Incriminating materials, arms and ammunition recovered. Further details shall follow."
An encounter started on Saturday between holed-up terrorists and the security forces in the heart of Jimmu & Kashmir’s Srinagar city.

Additional Director General of Police J&K, Vijay Kumar said that the encounter took place in Thajiwara area of Bijbehara.
Police said that the encounter broke out in Nagbal area of Shopian when security forces and police cordoned the area after information about presence of terrorists.
The encounter took place at around 2.30 am. Both the injured have been shifted to a nearby hospital. A case under relevant sections has been registered at the North Rohini Police Station.
Police said that in the ongoing encounter, one police personnel namely Constable Sarfaraz Ahmad, resident of Batote in Ramban got injured.
