An encounter has started between security forces and terrorists in the Kadder area of South Kashmir's Kulgam district, the police said on Thursday.
In a post on X, Kashmir Zone Police said, "Two terrorists have been neutralised in the Sopore encounter. Identification and affiliation is being ascertained. Incriminating materials, arms and ammunition recovered. Further details shall follow."
An encounter started on Saturday between holed-up terrorists and the security forces in the heart of Jimmu & Kashmir’s Srinagar city.
In a major success, the Indian Army killed two more terrorists on Tuesday morning after a counter-terror operation in the border area of Akhnoor sector of Jammu near here, thus taking the total to three.
This was the second encounter by the STF in a day on Monday after its sleuths gunned down one, Anuj Pratap Singh, involved in the jeweler robbery case in Sultanpur, in Unnao in the morning.
Blaming Akhilesh Yadav for the killing, the family of the deceased said with this the wish of the SP president, who has been complaining about the encounter killing of a Yadav, has been fulfilled.
Contact has been established and few rounds have been fired from both sides.
The Chinar Corps of the Indian Army wrote on X, "An Infiltration attempt has been successfully prevented with the elimination of two terrorists today on LoC in Keran Sector, Kupwara. Anti- Infiltration Operations are continuing".
The encounter took place in the forests of Kothiyatola area in the Balaghat district on Monday, according to the officials.
