Case against Maneka Gandhi for ‘communal’ remark on Kerala’s Malappuram district over elephant death
Gandhi had said that Malappuram is India’s most violent district and an elephant is killed every 3 days in Kerala.
Gandhi had said that Malappuram is India’s most violent district and an elephant is killed every 3 days in Kerala.
'As part of the probe and evidence collection, the arrested person was taken to the plantation shed where he would help two others in making the crackers,' said Forest officer Aashique Ali U.
Meanwhile, it is alleged that the killing was not deliberate as the elephant had walked into a trap laid for wild boars that come to destroy the crops frequently.
Earlier in the day, the Central government taking a serious note of the incident, had said that it will leave no stone unturned to investigate properly and nab the culprits.
Meanwhile, Kerala Forest Minister K Raju has warned of strict action against the culprits responsible for the killing of the pregnant elephant.
