The approval was also accorded for the purchase of goods and items worth Rs 5,412 Crore by various departments.
According to Tata Motors, it will supply 150 units of 9-metre and 50 units of 12-metre Starbus electric buses as part of Jammu & Kashmir's initiative for environmentally-friendly public transportation.
The project for 40 electric buses is being executed by NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Limited (NVVN Limited), a 100% subsidiary of NTPC Limited, a PSU under Ministry of Power, Government of India.
