Delhi Water Minister and Delhi Jal Board (DJB) Chairman Saurabh Bhardwaj on Saturday inspected the Najafgarh STP lake and directed the officials to convert the artificial lake as per expectations and complete the quality work in time.
The event itself wiped out 95% of life on Earth, or about 19 out of every 20 species. Likely triggered by increased volcanic activity and a subsequent spike in atmospheric carbon dioxide, it caused climatic conditions similar to the human-driven environmental challenges seen today, namely global warming, ocean acidification, and marine deoxygenation.
Human-caused climate change made agricultural and ecological droughts in the North Hemisphere extratropics at least 20 times more likely, the researchers found.
The researchers examined U.S. Geological Survey stream gauge data and the human influences affecting those streams.
Legal provisions were put in place to ensure the continuity of this ecosystem by dedicating an entire Act for its governance.
