Khattar said during the last year, 3824 FIRs were registered in the state and 6000 persons were arrested. These include 10 Nigerian suppliers. Apart from this, assets worth Rs 46 crore of 71 persons have been attached.
The CM also sought access to custom databases so that suspected containers coming from other countries may be scrutinised from a drug smuggling point of view.
Union Home and Conference Minister, Amit Shah, said on Saturday that India is witnessing a fight against drug trafficking with a "clear direction and fast pace” for the first time since Independence.
Coinciding with the conference, nearly 31,000 kg drugs were destroyed by the NCB teams in Delhi, Chennai, Guwahati and Kolkata.
With the scheduled disposal of 30,468.78 kg of drugs on Saturday, the total quantity will reach around 81,686.62 kg, crossing the NCB's target.
