In a major breakthrough amidst the ongoing war against drugs waged on the directions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Commissionerate Police Amritsar has dismantled a drug trafficking cartel with the arrest of four individuals including one woman and seized 5 kg heroin from their possession
Two people including a Nigerian national were arrested for distributing restricted drugs across the nation with the seizure of naro-substance worth Rs 4 crore.
The arrest resulted in the recovery of 18 kilogram of ‘Alprazolam’ (a drug used in treating anxiety) powder and a factory used in the manufacturing of the drug was also unearthed in Hisar, Haryana, it added.
A total of 6.776 kg of crude heroin and brown sugar and 10.598 kgs of fine quality opium said to be smuggled from the North Eastern states have been recovered fron the drug dealers, the police added.
