Union Minister of Science & Technology and Earth Sciences & Vice President of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), New Delhi, Dr Jitendra Singh has expressed hope that scientists, research scholars, and staff will work on issues that impact society at large and shall find solutions to critical problems related to environment and health.
Paying homage to the martyrs, who laid down their lives during the agitation for the abrogation of Article 370, Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh said on Sunday that the sacrifice of Hiranagar martyrs had heralded the relentless movement for J&K's total integration with the Indian Union.
Union Minister Jitendra Singh hosted a dinner for a group of around 100 students from Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh on the sidelines of the ongoing "National Youth Festival 2025".

The Union Minister said that the Doda district has today emerged on the world map because of the lavender and purple revolutions in Bhaderwah. These revolutions, he stated, were exhibited in the Republic Day parade in New Delhi, and PM Narendra Modi spoke in detail about it in his "Mann Ki Baat".
"Prime Minister Narendra Modi has broken taboos of the past by opening the space sector to public-private-participation," he said.

Dr Jitendra Singh said this while addressing a public meeting. On the occasion, a Lavender awareness program was also organised.
