In his letter addressed to the central vigilance commissioner, he accused the Aam Aadmi Party government of ignoring a letter from the Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) and stated that this clearly indicates a “massive corruption” scandal in the DJB.
The BJP leader has claimed that once the investigation is completed, corruption involving Aam Aadmi Party leaders will be exposed to the people of Delhi.
In his letter to the CVC, the BJP leader accused the Delhi government of deliberate financial mismanagement in the city's water board. He alleged that the intentions of the government are dubious. They have not prepared a balance sheet of the DJB since 2018 to hide the corruption.
The minister has said that it is now the CS's personal responsibility to resolve the crisis.
Saxena also reviewed the preparedness and emergency response of various departments to deal with the situation.
The CM has also directed officers to ensure early disposal of pending cases related to land for installation of tubewells and RO plants.
According to the ACB, in 2019 the vigilance department of the DJB discovered "serious fraud" and embezzlement of DJB money by the officials/agencies concerned.
The Delhi Lieutenant Governor on Saturday directed the Chief Secretary to lodge an FIR against Delhi Jal Board officials and others for embezzlement of Rs 20 crore, said a statement.
