Veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah has come under the radar of netizens for deleting his Facebook post in which he defended and supported Diljit Dosanjh amid the ‘Sardaar Ji 3’ controversy.
“I STAND FIRMLY WITH DILJIT,” Shah wrote in all caps, leaving no room for ambiguity. “The dirty tricks deptt of Jumla Party has been awaiting a chance to attack him. They think they’ve got it at last.”
“There was no advisory, no directive, no indication of such a situation back then,” Sidhu explained. “We didn’t violate any law or sentiment at the time of filming.”
This comes after lead actor Diljit Dosanjh’s collaboration with Pakistani actress Hania Amir in the film 'Sardaar Ji 3', which has sparked significant outrage in India.
Additionally, they’ve asked for his songs and films to be removed from all major streaming platforms: YouTube, Spotify, JioSaavn, and OTT platforms.
Sonali’s note didn’t shy away from asking hard questions: “And maybe we need to ask ourselves. Is it because he wears a turban? Because he is not Hindu?"
The film encountered initial opposition from India's Censor Board. Several factions resisted it because of the controversial nature of its subject matter.
The singer also slammed Diljit’s silence on the matter, accusing him of turning his back on Indian fans after enjoying immense support through concerts and shows.
Let’s take a moment to explore Hania Amir’s past connections with Indian celebrities, both personal and professional, that many may not know about.
