The DGP, who was reviewing the security scenario in Kathua and Doda districts, said that Pakistan and its agencies are using narco-terrorim in J&K to target the younger generation and to raise funds for terror activities.
The DGP appreciated the role of Jammu and Kashmir Police and other security forces in combating terrorism and providing a better security environment to the people of J&K.
The DGP inspected the security methods and mechanisms adopted for the security of yatris at the camp.
The DGP called for elaborate arrangements to ensure secure and peaceful conduct of Amarnath yatra as was done last year. The DGP said that all arrangements for the deployment and distribution of manpower need to be synchronized at different levels for the conduct of the yatra.
Addressing the Police Darbar, the DGP Dilbag Singh said that the Poonch district was by and large terrorism-free for which he congratulated personnel of police, other security forces and people of the area for their joint efforts.
The DGP said that terrorism targets individuals but drugs affect families and society as a whole and added that we all have to work collectively to put an end to this menace.
There were indications that Rath’s resignation is unlikely to be accepted as he was facing a probe on charges of “gross instances of misconduct”.
The DGP directed that the identified routes of travel and movement, Do’s and Don’ts for the yatris, helpline numbers should be made public and be circulated
The DGP also said the political leaders’ comments are unlawful and the law will take its own course in the matter.
The DGP directed to keep strict watch on all the rogue elements and stressed for tracing and tracking the anti national elements on social media.
