Delhi Congress president Devender Yadav on Wednesday congratulated BJP MLA Rekha Gupta after chosen as the Chief Minister of Delhi and expressed hope that she will work towards safeguarding the interests of the people of the national capital.

Delhi Congress president Devender Yadav on Friday took a jibe at the BJP for not announcing the chief ministerial face for Delhi yet, saying it point towards a “power struggle” within the saffron party.
Talking to The Statesman, Yadav referring to the outcome of the Delhi Assembly polls, said, “We gave a very good fight though we were not able to convert it into seats. But, I am happy that we were able to give the people the hope of change in the government in the national capital.”

Yadav alleged the AAP and BJP have been acting with utmost irresponsibility in maintaining law and order.
Attacking the AAP and BJP, he said, “Only when an election comes around, the AAP and the BJP leaders wake up to rake up old issues like giving EWS flats to Rohingya refugees by sidetracking the sufferings of the people.”
Instead of asking his government to take concrete steps to ensure people's safety and security, Devender Yadav alleged Kejriwal is indulging in cheap politics by trading charges with the BJP.
He said the Congress’ 15-year rule was a cherished memory for the public as it was the golden era of development and progress in the city.
