As many as six people were injured after several coaches of the Howrah-CSMT Express derailed near Chakradharpur in Jharkhand on Tuesday morning, officials said.
The incident happened at around 8.25 am, affecting the down traffic between Kalyan to Karjat, CPRO added.
“There were 178 passengers from Andhra Pradesh travelling in these trains. However, the number of casualties or injured is yet to be known,” said Anup Satpathy, DRM Waltair of East Coast Railway.
The Railway Board decided to review the safety standards for train operations during inclement weather.
