Five more Bangladeshi immigrants, including one woman and two children, were nabbed and put in a detention centre for deportation by the police from Uttam Nagar in West Delhi, the cops said on Saturday, which totals to 42 apprehensions in the last Four days.
The Delhi Police on Friday deported a Bangladeshi immigrant couple from South West Delhi. With this the number of immigrants apprehended in the last three days by the cops reached 32.
The Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) of Sangam Vihar assembly constituency wrote to the Station House Officer (SHO) of Tigri Police station in South Delhi to register an FIR against an applicant for using forged documents to register as a new voter.
In an ongoing drive against the illegally staying foreign nationals, 11 Bangladeshi immigrants from the South West district have been deported through the Foreigners Registration office (FRRO), the Delhi Police said on Wednesday.
The traffickers have been identified as Mohammad Anas, Nivesh Kumar, who belong to North East Delhi and a chemist identified as Lovekesh Sindhi, who is from East Delhi.
The arrested accused was identified as Saad, who had been evading arrest for the past year and was finally apprehended in the Darya Ganj area of the national capital.
"This order shall come into force with effect from Friday and shall remain in force for a period of 15 days up to August 16 (both days inclusive) unless withdrawn earlier," the order stated.
The police stated that during the investigation, the local police found no significant damage to the Kanwad. Instead, the wheel of the vehicle on which the Kanwad was being transported suffered minor damage, which was promptly repaired.
The police were able to track down the accused following a meticulous operation with police personnel even posing as peanut wholesalers.
