The Delhi Police on Friday deported a Bangladeshi immigrant couple from South West Delhi. With this the number of immigrants apprehended in the last three days by the cops reached 32.
The Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) of Sangam Vihar assembly constituency wrote to the Station House Officer (SHO) of Tigri Police station in South Delhi to register an FIR against an applicant for using forged documents to register as a new voter.
In an ongoing drive against the illegally staying foreign nationals, 11 Bangladeshi immigrants from the South West district have been deported through the Foreigners Registration office (FRRO), the Delhi Police said on Wednesday.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (South East) Ravi Kumar Singh said, “Under relevant sections of the Motor Vehicles Act, the offenders were fined for performing stunts and using modified silencers that created excessive noise”.
The year 2014 also witnessed several incidents that shook people, including the killing of a businessman while he was on a morning walk in east Delhi, the firing at the GTB hospital where miscreants entered the hospital ward and shot a person due to mistaken identity.
The heightened security efforts aim to raise public awareness and assist the police in locating and capturing the terrorists.
The accused were identified as Vinay Aggarwal (42) of Laxmi Nagar, Kuldeep Singh (35) of New Ashok Nagar, and Sunil Kumar (43) of Trilok Puri area. They were arrested after being implicated in a fraudulent scheme involving the use of forged documents to obtain loans from various banks.
An inter-state coordination meeting was held at the Delhi Police Headquarters on Wednesday to bolster cooperation among several law enforcement agencies addressing various security concerns in preparation for the upcoming Independence Day celebrations.
The central probe agency filed an FIR in the matter on Tuesday, taking over the investigation from the Delhi Police.
