The Delhi Metro customers will now be able to book their bike taxi rides from Delhi Metro’s official mobile app, DMRC Momentum (Delhi Sarthi 2.0) itself without the need to juggle between multiple apps.
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Friday urged the public to choose public transport to reduce congestion and air pollution in the city.
Talking to The Statesman, an official from the DMRC said: "Services were delayed on the Delhi Metro's Yellow Line due to some technical issue which was developed in the train at Rajiv Chowk metro station."
"As a result, trains are running at restricted speed in this section resulting in bunching of trains," a DMRC spokesperson said here on Monday. However, normal train services are available on the rest of the section of Yellow Line.
Speaking on the occasion, the Prime Minister termed today's event as an attempt to make urban development future ready. He said preparing the country for future needs is an important responsibility of governance.
The farmers from five states - Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Kerala and Punjab – are planning a march to Delhi today and tomorrow. The Delhi government has refused to allow any rally in the city, citing the coronavirus outbreak.
The metro services are resuming their services with protective measures such as only asymptomatic people are allowed to board trains and stations at containment zones will stay shut.
As per DMRC’s prior announcement, the smart cards will be recharged automatically at the automatic fare collection gates (AFC) of the metro stations.
Apart from resuming the metro services, social and other functions will also be allowed with a limit of 100 people from September 21 in the fourth phase of unlocking.
