Delhi Mayor Shelly Oberoi on Tuesday discussed issues related to all Garbage Vulnerable Points (GVP) points in the national capital, in a bid to eradicate them permanently.
During the Mayor's inspection drive, she received numerous complaints from residents and vendors regarding the unsatisfactory sanitation and cleanliness between the Red Fort and Fatehpuri Masjid Road.
He assured that BJP Ward Chairmans will do all they can to start small ward level development projects at earliest.
The meeting discussed the issues related to the garbage vulnerable points (GVPs) with the officials sharing the details about the present condition of the spots and the actions taken in this regard.
The Delhi Traffic Police, in a post on X, said, "Movement of traffic is restricted at Okhla underpass due to waterlogging. Kindly plan your journey accordingly." This has forced regular commuters to take alternative routes facing traffic jams en route and delayed journeys.
The meeting was aimed to strengthen the sanitation system and emphasize the cleaning of drains before the monsoon.
She also directed the officials to visit the wards to know the problems of the citizens.
During the inspection, the Mayor observed that the toll plaza is situated in a densely populated area in Delhi about a kilometer away from the border. Also , there are three schools in that location.
